The Catholic Schools Office (CSO), Newcastle is responsible for the leadership, efficient operation and management of systemic schools which educate approximately 17,600 students in 55 schools in the Diocese of Maitland and Newcastle. The CSO employs over 1200 teachers and around 550 non-teaching staff.

The CSO's main focus is providing support for schools and helping to ensure that every student receives a quality Catholic education. As a Catholic Schools Office we model ourselves on the person of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Gospels and through the teachings of the Catholic Church.


The Catholic Schools Office provides to schools a wide range of services and resources. The objective of these services is to provide quality education for the students. Some of the services are:
